"I had the opportunity to shadow Dr. D'Hue, a pathologist at IU Arnett. I had a great afternoon watching her perform a variety of sample analyses, including biopsies, resections, and excisions. One of the most fascinating parts of my experience was watching her measure the margins of a resected colon to ensure the cancerous areas were properly removed. I attended a meeting with her colleagues where they discussed/diagnosed particularly difficult pathological samples. I am very thankful for this opportunity."

"I had an amazing learning opportunity from Dr. Buono, a cardiac-anesthesiologist at IU Arnett. I got to witness a surgery that included an aneurysm in the abdomen. Although Dr. Buono didn’t perform the actual surgery on the aneurysm, he showed me that anesthesiologist still have vital roles in the patient’s care, unconscious and conscious.   While in the operating room I got to learn about the four As of anesthesia, the Seldinger Technique, and the history of where anesthesia stemmed from. This experience made me more eager to chase my dream of becoming an anesthesiologist!"

"I was able to shadow Dr. Kazem, a diagnostic radiologist at IU Arnett Hospital. I watched a swallow study, met with an RPA, and saw different cases that Dr. Kazem evaluate everyday. Some of the diagnostic imaging I saw were of a spine, shoulder, pelvis, and head. My favorite part was seeing him analyze the x-rays and make reports. Dr. Kazem definitely confirmed that I want to follow this path and I am grateful for the opportunity."
